I purchased The Caker after watching a YouTube video by Clo Knits. Although it is a much pricier wool winder compared to the hand held or plastic electric winders, it is worth every penny. You can feel the quality right out of the box. Every cake I have wound has been perfect, even winding skeins of mohair. I have chronic pain in my neck and shoulders and having to wind a skein by hand would not allow me to knit for a day or two after. With The Caker, I can wind my skein in less than 2 minutes and get straight to knitting. Best of all, it is manufactured and shipped within Canada!

I’ve had my Caker for about 2 years and absolutely love it. I love the built in feature that stops the winder if it gets tangled on the swift. The only thing that would make it better is a lager cone add on. I’m a handspinner and tend to have larger hanks to cake.

I bought The Caker for my wife about 8 months ago, and she loves it. She’s an avid crocheter with many years of experience using every caker/winder under the sun. This is by far her favorite, and it gets used several times per week. My only complaint is a problem that plagues every winder she has used: sometimes the yarn gets tangled in the gears and it’s a bear to untangle. Like I said, it’s a common problem and I’m not sure what the solution would be. Other than that, The Caker is high-quality and made to last a lifetime. It’s a great product!

About a year in I did break the center piece, but I reached out through customer service and was immediately helped with replacement parts and easy instructions on how to fix my caker. Je suis tellement contente de m'être offert un “ caker ” ! Il permet de réaliser les plus beaux cakes et c'est un vrai jeu d'enfant. Je viens tout juste de l'acheter et je sais déjà qu'il va changer ma vie. J’adore le fait de pouvoir choisir la vitesse : si vous utilisez un fil collant comme le mohair, il suffit de réduire légèrement la vitesse pour obtenir une très belle tension dans votre pelote. Et le design est tellement mignon !
